Porice Diamond Mincy of Staten Island shot Cameron County District Attorney Paul Malizia at his office located at 25 East Fourth Street, Emporium Borough (Cameron County) around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police
The 31-year-old then fled the scene, but she had been staying in the area and was later taken into custody, the police explained.
She was charged with the following offenses according to her court docket:
- Felony Aggravated Assault - Attempts to cause Serious Bodily Injury or causes injury with extreme indifference.
- Felony Aggravated Assault - Attempts to cause Serious Bodily Injury or causes injury to designated individuals.
- Felony Aggravated Assault - Attempts to cause Serious Bodily Injury or causes injury with a deadly weapon.
- Felony Firearms Not To Be Carried without a License.
- Misdemeanor Defiant trespassing actual communication to the actor.
- Misdemeanor Possession of an Instrument Of Crime With Intent.
- Misdemeanor Possession Of Weapon.
- Misdemeanor Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
- Misdemeanor Simple Assault, Two Counts.
- Summary Criminal Mischief - Damage Property.
She was denied bail as she has "no ties with Cameron County," and is "Argumentative and Danger to Others," Magisterial District Judge Mark S. Jacob wrote on her docket.
Her preliminary hearing has been scheduled before Jacob at 11 a.m. on June 22, as detailed in her docket.
Cameron County District Attorney Paul Malizia was taken to an area hospital and was later released in stable condition, according to the police.
Malizia gave the following update in a statement on Facebook:
“My family and I thank you for your concern regarding today’s most unfortunate events. I am well and will continue to serve as Cameron County’s District Attorney.”
Mincy's motive is unclear and police are continuing to investigate.
